Title: So where are the boys stayin for tall Pines? Post by dtompsett on 10/06/4 at 23:52:09 So.... this will be my 3rd time working tall pines, and i'm curious about this 'winterized cottage' idea.... not that I don't love Elmer's hunt camp... but I really do hate that outhouse! So... is there any interest in getting a cottage? Is the drive to the cottage as fun as the drive to Elmers? I guess we'd hafta cook for ourselves.... breakfast at Elmers is always a delight. |

Title: Re: So where are the boys stayin for tall Pines? Post by DaveC on 10/08/4 at 20:31:38 I have asked Trish about the "winterized cottage". I am hoping it is closer to town. Elmer is a wonderful host and it is a great drive, but when you are beat on Saturday night, after a long day of working, it is a bloody long drive. I might still stay at Elmer's though, the price is right! ;D |

Title: Re: So where are the boys stayin for tall Pines? Post by dtompsett on 10/13/4 at 12:40:10 ya... maybe I'll just give in, and stay at elmers. I mean, it is a fun drive, and I definitely enjoy the atmosphere. |
Title: Re: So where are the boys stayin for tall Pines? Post by Craig_Hamm on 10/19/4 at 22:46:41 Yeah, well I slept like a log there after a couple long days. The breakfast is great, that big communal table, the stove, etc. No phones! Not keen on that bog, though! |
Title: Re: So where are the boys stayin for tall Pines? Post by RyanHuber on 10/20/4 at 09:14:31 The driveway's in pretty good shape this year, much better now than in the spring anyways. I don't know what it'll be like after hunting season though. |
Title: Re: So where are the boys stayin for tall Pines? Post by DaveC on 10/20/4 at 10:09:42 I have confirmed for Elmer's again this year. Can't beat the value. Dibs on the big bed at the back!!! I can get my Golf down the driveway Ryan, no snivelling from you AWD guys. ;D |
Title: Re: So where are the boys stayin for tall Pines? Post by RyanHuber on 10/20/4 at 15:15:18 Hey, there won't be any of that from me man! Rallycrosses have taught me one thing: floorpans can take a lot of abuse! ;D |
Title: Re: So where are the boys stayin for tall Pines? Post by dtompsett on 10/20/4 at 22:37:21 i just confirmed with trish to stay both nights at Elmers... Seems silly to have a beer tent after the event though.... maybe by then i'll have the 'G' license, and I can actually have a beer and not be illegial to drive. There's a big bed in the back???? |
Title: Re: So where are the boys stayin for tall Pines? Post by RyanHuber on 10/21/4 at 07:12:07 Yeah, there is, beyond the bunk beds. I call the big couch directly across from the wood stove! |
Title: Re: So where are the boys stayin for tall Pines? Post by John_Vanos on 10/21/4 at 07:40:25 That blue couch near the stove is mine! Im confirmed in as well now, see you all there! |
Title: Re: So where are the boys stayin for tall Pines? Post by dtompsett on 10/21/4 at 09:25:04 Hmmm... I know I slept on one of the couches last year... was pretty comfortable... so I call one of those again (assuming there are enough) |

There is a double in the back and being not a small gent, I prefer it. It is also furthest from the heat stove and I like it cool to sleep. Elmer puts on an unbelievable fire and the place is normally roasting. I think I will pick up a few beverages to have at Elmer's. I would imagine the OPP knows about the beer tent. :o |

Sounds like a plan.... i'd thought about it, but wasn't sure how Elmer would react to it.... maybe only bring a 6-pack :-/ |
