The insurance issue is coming alive again, as Jen Horsey of the Canadian Press has interviewed some people, including Jim, about it. The story has been picked up by a Thunder Bay newspaper (that's the only one I know of so far), and Global News heard about it and is interested. You can read the story in the "Caged and screwed" thread on the MCO Rally forum (www.mco.org).

Here are all the latest details:

That thread is 9 pages long now, most of the good info in on page 2.
Basically they are just putting on a trial run at the moment, they need 5000 applicants before they can start offering coverage.  So we all need to fill out the form that can be found on that site asap to help them reach their goal.

William posted this at MCO

So, be careful.  It is a big step forward, but there are still issues with timed events.

----cut here------

I am posting this so you have a clear understanding.

First We have a legal brief prepaired for self insurance.this is under our direction and control for Liability.I could cover you for onroad legal timed events with liability.Williams has to put up 1 Million dollars to file this.I would be looking at 750 people at 1,500 per year to Start.

This policy would only be Liability coverage,no fire,no theft,no collision. If 750 sign up this is ready to go.

what happened is we received several hundred e-mails saying no to this policy because it was only liability.NO We Do NOT Want It without everything else.

I went out to underwrite this policy with a national company like state farm etc.

We have found 2 that would insure modded cars.this is a hugh step forward. You could now drive your modded solo car or rally car legally on the street.

Now we are at TSD events.A national carrier does not understand the concept of Legal speed timed events.

Now follow this!!.We have 2 national carriers that will modify their death policy so you can drive your modded car legally to a offroad solo or rally event. After the event drive home legally with your insurance companies full knowledge that you use your modded car in off road events such as Solo and rally.During the OFFROAD EVENT YOU HAVE NO COVERAGE OF ANY KIND.

Why would you sign up.you have to ask this!!!!

2 Weeks ago we posted insurance ready.SELF INSURANCE,LIABILITY ONLY!!!!We received several hundred e-mails stating they wanted more than liability.NOT INTERESTED

We have self insurance ready to go.

Give me 750 Honest names and we will move forward for you for Liability Only.

Am I clear enough. Please let me know if I am NOT CLEAR HERE

Thanks

William
