The 2006 Rally of the Tall Pines (24-25 November) is just two weeks away and so it's time for another competitor update. The Tall Pines Team is entering the final stretch of their preparations for this year's event. The competition is shaping up nicely with only a few days before the Seeded Draw deadline for early entries.
Please note that the DEADLINE FOR EARLY ENTRIES submitted by mail, FAX or On-line is this Tuesday November 14th by 6PM EST (entries and payment may be submitted in person at the MLRC Club Meeting up until 9PM EST). Entries submitted after this date will be charged the late entry fees described in the Supplementary Regulations. Please be sure to submit your entry before this date to ensure you get included in the draw to get the best possible starting position on race weekend!
Here are some additional event updates:
- Hankook Canada has joined the Tall Pines Team! The Rally of the Tall Pines would like to welcome Hankook Tire Canada to our team! Hankook will be providing tires for the Tall Pines Car '0'. Car '0' will be driven by Tom McGeer and Mark Williams. Car '0' is critical to the smooth running of the rally and that's why we're ecstatic to have Hankook Canada provide the tires That the Car '0' Team will need to get their jobs done and get to the end of the event. You can check out Hankook's on-site display at this year's Tall Pines!
- Are you a new competitor or an existing competitor who's not planning on competing at Tall Pines but still looking to brush up on your Descriptive Stage Notes skills? If so, the Tall Pines can help! The Rally of the Tall Pines is currently offering a very limited number of spaces in our exclusive Descriptive Stage Notes School on Thursday November 23rd at Rally Headquarters in Bancroft between 8:30PM - 10:00PM. This school is open to the public but you will need to act quickly to reserve your space in the school. Students of this school also get to participate in the Notes Familiarization Pass on Friday November 24th. - The Descriptive Stage Notes System Description document has been posted on our website. ALL drivers and co-drivers should READ THIS DOCUMENT IN ITS ENTIRETY even if you are an experienced user of stage notes. If you do not plan on using the Notes sections of the supplied routebook/notes document you should at least read the Stage Page Layout section below. While the system described in this document may be similar to what you might have used before (e.g. Jemba Notes, Tall Pines notes from previous years). THERE ARE DIFFERENCES in the vocabulary and the terms that are used. There are even differences from the 2005 Tall Pines notes system: the addition of the term “kick” and the omission of some of the small crests that you can see through (this latter change is explained toward the end of this document).
- We have started updating our road conditions section of the website with pictures of the current road conditions. We will update this as frequently as possible when road conditions change.
- The 2006 Canadian Rally Championship schedule has been updated on the Tall Pines Website. Be sure to watch the series to prepare yourself for what lies ahead at the Tall Pines!
- A detailed VIP schedule for the 2006 Rally of the Tall Pines has been posted on our website. If you have already signed up your friends, family and sponsors for our amazing VIP program, check out the schedule for registration times. The program is filling up quickly so sign up now to avoid disappointment!
