Jeeze... you make it sound like working is a bad thing... or difficult.  Jon, come out, offer to work... you'll see the entire thing... and the organizers will definitely give you an easy job if it's your first time out.

I visited the Burnt River site today.  Road and parking lot conditions are excellent - snow covered, nice snow banks.  Some more snow predicted tomorrow.

See my other message re fuel being available in Fenelon Falls.

Conditions Fantastic!!!

With all this snow yesterday and today, the conditions at Burnt River are fantastic, Ross Wood has been going up all week and both the in field Rallycross track, and the driveway will be better than ever.

Pizza is on its way

As always the Pizza has been ordered and will be free for workers and drivers. Lots to go around.

Fuel

Please see Ross Woods other post for updates on Fuel. I personally have not seen any problems getting fuel in Mississauga or in Markham.

Space Left

We still have spots left for entries and I think with the weather warming up, this will be the last time you get to drive full out on snow this winter. Email rallycross@mlrc.ca now to reserve your place.

Studs

Under RSO rules, studs are not allowed in Ontario events. This includes rallycross. Please do not bring studs for use on the infield track or the driveway, we will not let you run.

See you all on Sunday!!

Rally beater is currently sitting on stands in the garage while I build a new exhaust.  With my schedule, I'd have to work a miracle to have it finished for sunday... so count me out.

In the last 24 hours we got about 15-20 cm of fresh snow but almost none of the freezing rain predicted,  so track conditions should be fabulous.

The forecast for tomorrow is for the temperature not to go above freezing at the track.

Come out and play!

Just came in from working all afternoon on the courses.  Conditions are spectacular.

I spent most of my time on the road course and I can say without hesitation that it is the best you could possibly hope for as a winter training course!!

For reference it is like driving a piece of a Perce Neige forest stage under the best possible snow conditions.

I didn't get a chance to attend this event, but as a parent all I can say is that it is really great for you to make an offer like this and I am glad that Norm took you up on it.

Thank you guys for coming out. I too had a blast. Specially following the cars out the driveway and seeing where everyone went into the snow bank.  ;D

Norm , It's my pleasure to help out. I love seeing kids have good time and I know Mia and Brook had blast cheering you on. Go 18, Go 18, Go 18 ;D

Hey Dave,
I am really glad Norm took me up on my offer too. He won his class for the day.  ;)

Thank you again everyone, I really had a good time and I hope to see you all soon.

Cheers,
Connie

Wow the buick sure looked good in thoes pics  ;D

Gotta love that driveway, probably one of the more fun things I have done in a while. Probably should invest in a more 'rallyable' vehicle sometime  :)

I believe that the Burnt River driveway in the state it was yesterday, represents not only a lot of fun,  but one of the best possible training exercises for good winter driving control.  I'm sure that every one of the participants learned from it.

Cory,  your driving was excellent.  Indeed I would like to see what you would do you in a lighter vehicle with winter tires on!  Did the rest of you realize that Cory's Buick has all seasons on it?

Those photos were GREAT! Thank you VERY much for making them available!

And Ross, I learned soooo much on the driveway!

Thank you to everybody who was involved. That was definetly the highlight of my winter driving this year.

Wow!  13 runs in one day!

Ryan,  I call that getting your money's worth.  No one else did as many,  although they could have.

Title: Re: MLRC WinterRX - This time's for Real - March 4
Post by RyanHuber on 03/07/7 at 20:18:10

That's splitting the inbound and outbound on the driveway into separate runs, but yeah, that's a pretty decent amount of hammer down driving for one day ;)

Man, getting to do all those driveway runs would've been fun.....there was so much snow too!  It just wasn't in the cards for me this time.  Maybe the snow'll stick around long enough for one more go?  The one run we got the first time around was a real blast, but to do more would've been amazing.  Cheers to everyone who got the Burnt River place going--it is a welcome reply to the cancellation of winter drivexes.

Nate
