Title: WINTER RX COURSE PLANS
Post by rosswood on 03/01/7 at 09:23:28

Just an update on the course plans for Sunday, March 4th at Burnt River.

We have made some changes in order to give each entrant the maximum possible seat time.  First each of the two courses is being expanded.  Plans for the road course have been completed - each run is now 2.0 km each way.  We have worked out arrangements that are still within the CARS rules and the insurance requirements that will allow us to run both courses simulataneously all day and to give you the maximum chances at each.

The parking lot course will be an expanded version of the previous course and will be run as RallyCross (just like in Bancroft) with proper timing, scoring and awards.

The road course (driveway) will be run more informally as testing and tuning - no formal timing and no awards.  Any entrant can just line up and run it whenever you want all day - as many times as you can fit in.  To give you the most possible seat time and the least down time,  each time you run the road course, you will do in and out (4 km),  but to keep it within the rules you will run from the HQ area out to the road,  stop briefly at the turnaround,  then be set off by the marshals to run back in.  So it will be considered two separate runs back to back - 2.0 km out then 2.0 km back in.  Since you will not ever be waiting long at the road end, that also pretty much guarantees that you will be available for your next scheduled run on the RX course.

Forecast is for a big 15-20 cm dump of snow in the next 24 hours at the track.  Shaping up to be an amazing day.
