Title: New Faces and New Initiatives at Tall Pines!
Post by AlanO on 03/25/7 at 07:52:55

Following a successful winter recruitment campaign, the Rally of the Tall Pines organizers are pleased to announce the addition of a number of new members to the organizing committee:

Coordinator: Paul Henshall
Assistant Coordinator: Alan Ockwell
Sponsorship Coordinator: James Drake
Media Relations: Lawrence Hacking and Trish McGeer
Assistant Routemaster: Norman Hibbert
Worker Recruitment: Adam Dowsett
Graphic Design: Anthony Tremblay and Edward Hillier
Equipment Manager - Francis Currer
Merchandising - Donna Huber

Previous coordinators Richard Hepburn and Francis Richard are staying on in advisory roles.  Their organizational expertise will ensure a smooth transition for the new committee, and will be a huge help in building on the success of previous editions of the event.

To help make this the biggest and best Tall Pines to date, we will be launching a number of new initiatives for this year’s event, to be held on November 23-24 in Bancroft, Ontario.  We’re proud to announce the first of these new plans: all competitors will be offered two-pass reconnaissance at the 2007 Rally of the Tall Pines!

Previously, competitors were given a single notes familiarization pass that covered all the stages at regular speeds.  Competitors will now have the opportunity to drive each stage twice in unmarked road cars, and are free to prepare their own pace notes.  Recce is optional for all competitors.

Look for a number of announcements in the coming weeks.  Keep an eye on www.tallpinesrally.com for more information.

Mark the date on your calendar – this will be an event to remember!

Does this mean that there are no more organizer's supplied stage notes?

It will depend on a few things - budget, demand, etc.

We're looking at options, and it's too early to make an announcement about organizer notes, but it is something that we are seriously considering.
