Title: BLACK BEAR WORK DAY
Post by rosswood on 05/28/8 at 07:34:48

At the moment we have 8 volunteers to assist with the Planet Motorsport Black Bear Woprk Day this Saturday, May 31st and could use a few more, so if you can recruit anyone else, please do so. Have them contact me at ross@tallpinesrally.com

Our key tasks will include removing loose and protruding rocks from the road surface, smoothing out rough areas and holes, filling in some washouts,  trimming off broken trees and clearing the path through the woods to the spectator area. Part of the course will have just been freshly graded, so removing rocks in that section should be very easy.

It would be helpful if you could bring the following tools - shovels,
pickaxes, prybars, clippers and saw.

The radio frequency we will be using is 146.775- or 146.580

Bring your own food and drink for the day and work gloves.  Don’t forget sun protection and bug repellant. There were almost no bugs the last time I was there, but it’s best to come prepared. Wear light coloured clothing if you can.

We will meet between 9:30 and 10:00 A.M. at the back of the ESSO/Convenience
Store at Carnarvon - junction of Hwy. 35 and Hwy. 118.

If you arrive late, proceed north approximately 20 km. on Hwy. 35 to Pine Springs Rd.  If coming from the north, hat junction is approximately 14 km south of Dorset.  For those of you relying on GPS, the coordinates of that junction are N45 07 958  W 078 50 318

Head west on Pine Springs Rd. (only way you can go) until you find us.
If you are really late go about 15 km. on Pine Springs Rd. to the Black
River bridge, then 200 metres past the bridge, turn north on Ril Lake Rd.
and drive until you find us.

See you Saturday.
