Jim Rand passed away unexpectedly in his sleep the other night.

Jim was a well known participant in the Rally community during the late eighties through nineties. He competed, and marshalled many MLRC events, but is best known as the Editor of On Route. Jim single handily developed On Route into arguably, the most eagerly read rally community publication in Canada, not to mention the United States.

Funeral arrangements will be announced when available.

RAND, Jim Of Toronto, Ontario, suddenly at his residence on Thursday, September 4, 2008, at the age of 55 years. Survived by his brother Donald of St. Catharines, Ontario and by his sister Barbara of St. Joseph, Michigan. Predeceased by his father Jerold and mother Grace. A private family burial will take place at Victoria Lawn Cemetery in St. Catharines, Ontario. In memory of Jim's mother, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
