The Shannonville Stages Rally will be held April 4, 2009 and it is only a few weeks away. For those competitors who haven't a high cash flow, here's a way to have access to a HANS device and still enter the event.
CSC Racing in Toronto is willing to help. CSC will rent HANS devices for the Shannonville Stages Rally to competitors and can also help by installing buttons to your current helmet if you don't already have them. They are needed for the sliding tethers that secure the HANS.

Here is the cost schedule

One day rental.............................................................$125

Buttons to attach tethers ...............................................$ 70

Installation of buttons.....................................................$ 35

The buttons need to be attached to a helmet in order for that helmet to be used with the HANS device. If the HANS is being rented, it will have to be returned but the buttons stay on the helmet and can be used again with another HANS device.

HANS devices now come standard with the sliding tether modification that allows improved side to side head movement. In other words, you can now turn your head to look both ways before you cross the street!

The rentals will be the sport models. They are the M20 version that the majority of rallyists will be using. The cost new is $885 and the rental fee can be applied to this cost if, immediately after the event, a rallyist should decide to purchase the HANS. The same is true of the buttons and installation. CSC also sells the Pro models new for $1320. Buttons and installation are included in the price of a new HANS.

CSC will need to know by March 23 how many rallyists are going to take advantage of this offer. That way, they can have the appropriate number of devices on hand.The HANS devices will be brought to the rally and returned afterward for you. Each competitor who is interested needs to make a financial committment so make sure that you have your credit card ready when you call.
