Four Star Motorsports and the Maple Leaf Rally Club are proud to bring you yet another rallycross season: the 2010 MLRC FourStar Rallycross Championship. The rallycross Championship will be run as the same as last year. 1, MLRC will be running the full championship. 2, We will be holding 5 events and the Championship will be over the entire year with four out of five races counting towards your end result. 3, Price Changes. To make our lives easier at MLRC, we are changes the pricing for online entries (credit card and cash). Now, it will be $45 to sign up online and $60 onsite. ($10 refund for MLRC Members) 4, Timing Changes, yes yes yes, I know that it is a early morning for most of you, but if we get as many people as last year, I really want to have enough time for every one to get as many runs in as possible. Registration will now open at 9am and close at 10:15am with the drivers meeting at 10:30am with the parade lap following. DATES AND LOCATIONS FOR 2010:
Rallycross Website is not fully up and running yet, but most information will be staying the same, except for the dates and the costs as noted above: www.mlrc.ca/rallycross This series continues to provide an opportunity for future rally stars to get their feet wet. No special vehicle preparation is required - regular street cars are permitted. The low entry fees and minimal car prep mean that the Rallycross series will provide an affordable introduction to rallying for drivers of all budgets and skill levels. Vehicles are divided into four classes to level the playing field and provide good competition within each group. Class one includes all front wheel drive cars, Class two is all rear wheel drive. Class three is for non-turbo four wheel drive and last but not least, Class four to for all the turbo four wheel drive cars. All colours, shapes and sizes of cars can compete in rallycross. From what I remember last year, they plowed the course a day or so before the race if I recall, which left a hard packed icy layer, which then got torn up as the day went along. Definitely won't be deep snow, and if you do come across that, you're jumped a snowbank, and are way off course ;D |

If it's being plowed just before the event it may be soft and we'll get down to frozen dirt by the end of the day. If it's snow the night before or during the event it may be deep snow. James - Is the course being plowed now or are you going to do it just before the event? |

The Burnt River facility is NOT suitable to Woosies like myself who DO NOT LIKE the cold. There are NO warm facilities at Burnt River. It is best left for a SUMMER event. Have to admit I was a bit nervous this morning when my duallie was struggling just to make it around the course, but it just got better and better all day. Great training for the drivers, who also got better and better all day. |

What if for one of the summer races we ran the track backwards. Either way it is a great day just thinking that for the guys that run the track all the time it would be a completely different track if it where run backwards. Plenty of room back there. :) Another question - Can we put stuff inside the F&G Club during the event? This weekend I am travelling to Bancroft and then when we are complete, I am heading to Peterborough for a 4 day conference, so I am travelling with luggage, computer etc. and I was hoping I could put that stuff inside. I have read the rules and I know the stuff can't stay in the car. I can bring a tarp and cover it, but I am not thrilled with that idea. |

Some people were saying to call it a day at 4 runs - I think if the plan was to do 'at least 5', that's what should be done. Rally is not just racing, it's also endurance. I would also like to say a big thank you for finding this road (and giving us a chance to use it) to all those who worked to hard to get it done. Really good little testing facility. Next one should be faster and 7 kms long (each way) ;) |

It has been a fantastic year for the Rallycross championship with a lot of new faces and old friends coming out to play in what is becoming the best track we could of ever dreamed of. I want to say thank you to all the people that make this series possible. A Big thank you to FourStar Motorsport for the continued Sponsorship and to the Town Of Bancroft for the people and resources! And i would like to convey a special thanks to James for being so patient and tolerant of me, my concerns were never of a personal nature, they were only ever in the best interest of rallycross itself. Even though we are running a stages car now, we plan on being at every event. Once again Thank-You :) |

Love the jump! Jim and I got to drive around it much more slowly on Saturday, the TP work day (Mike K. said we could). Even at slower speeds, in a non-rally-prepped car, you could tell it would be a total blast. Am *very* sorry that my old rally car has gone to a new home. :'( Congrats to all who entered and did well, and special kudos to the organizers and workers for this great series! Jeannie |

My son, William, and I had a blast this past weekend and are planning to be back and run more events in next year's series. Too, I'd like to thank Leo for riding with me and providing coaching. I'm a lot more comfortable with left-foot-braking now (although there's still a lot of room for improvement). See you next year. |

Post by Mech on 10/21/10 at 21:35:10 Thanks to all the organizers and volunteers for putting on the RallyX - was a blast :) The Tracker is packed away now until next time - hopefully it starts in Janurary 8-) I read changes in the class structure are coming: May I suggest that natural induction RWD and AWD race in the same class, that way I can flip between the two depending on track conditions :P |
