Title: I Need a Driver for Feb 8th MLRC Mini Rally Post by Slowpoke on 01/31/10 at 21:42:03 Tim Laye is busy next Monday, so I need a driver for the Feb 8th Mini out of Bradford. I'll supply the car and pay for the gas if you pay part of the entry fee. I need to work on our Timewise a little bit more after some silly mistakes last week. Some rally experience appreciated, or at least the ability to stop a car with no ABS in the snow. :) "Ol' Smokey" has great suspension, great lights, a working heater, and non-existant brakes. You'll get used to the latter. We'll be running in expert. (My problem, not yours. ;) ) http://www.mlrc.ca/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1263483946 |

Title: Re: I Need a Driver for Feb 8th MLRC Mini Rally Post by Slowpoke on 02/08/10 at 00:36:32 I got a call on the weekend wondering if I still needed a driver. Ben was unsure if he could make it, so Jake has stepped in. I'm good! But I know a good Honda driver looking for a MLWR navigator if anyone is interested in the right hand seat...? |

Title: Re: I Need a Driver for Feb 8th MLRC Mini Rally Post by Slowpoke on 02/08/10 at 17:56:35 Okay, this is embarassing. The car isn't ready. :( Something about having to use a cutting wheel, acetylene torch and air hammer to remove bolts... taking the rear hubs off at the differential because they're seized in. Lateral link and trailing arm bushings shot (expected) but being uncooperative. :'( I'm missing the mini! But she'll be solid for MLWR. |
Title: Re: I Need a Driver for Feb 8th MLRC Mini Rally Post by RyanHuber on 02/08/10 at 20:51:37 Steve, it's sometimes easier to burn the bushings out than it is to remove that 9" bolt... |
