Title: WTB RWD Rally car
Post by corywannamaker on 09/20/10 at 19:02:50

So I after some things have happened in my life I can no longer build my impreza to rally  :'(( not yet) so I am looking for a RWD gr2 or gr5 stage rally car.Running a 2wd car should be cheaper than AWD and RWD will give me more of the style of driving that I am use to. If you have anything or know anyone that does please let me know.

Thanks
Cory

I would LOVE your car. However I think that it will be too much for a first time stage rally driver. I know that it is all in the right foot but I have a hard time finding it before it is too much and I am in trouble. I think that I should start off  with a little less power. Thanks

Easy. put a smaller turbo on it and de-tune it. That way you can ramp it back up as experience is gained.
That's the great thing about a car like this. Anything is possible and options are limitless. Yes, you could even make it AWD further down the road. The parts & knowledge are out there.

A buddy of mine in Milton offered me a 1980 Corolla hatchback. Updated cage, gravel suspension, 4AGE from a AE86 with a LSD in the rear. The car's got some rust and definately needs some work before it could be Stage Rallied. It has been stage rallied in the past, about 5 years ago i think. I was planning to use it as a practise/testing car but it seems like the kind of thing you'd be interested in.
