Navigational rallies are Time-Speed-Distance and (depending on the club's rules) your truck should be just fine. TSD's use public roads and travel at, or below, the posted speed limit. You want to get a navigator who is good at maths, because that person is key to your doing well.

We don't have any trucks running in our TSD series here in Ottawa, but we do have a regular entrant who uses his rally van.

And, it's a great way to get started in rallying!

And there's no need for a roll cage in navigational rallies; some rallies may specifically exclude them. It's all to do with maintaining a low profile with the public.
You can find lots more info at the RSO website http://www.rallysport.on.ca/index.php
The navigational rules are here http://www.rallysport.on.ca/index.php?fuseaction=site.details&id=484

Hi Or,

If you're talking about the navigational rallies on public roads, you don't need a roll cage/helmet ect. The only requirements are a co-driver, pen/pencil/paper/calculator and maybe some gravol ;)

For stage rallies, you'll need an approved roll cage, approved safety gear, and much much more.

For the MLRC rallycross in Bancroft, all you need is an approved helmet to race, no roll cages.

The rallycross dates are:  January 22nd, February 26, July 8th, September 23rd and October 21st.  You just need a helmet to compete.  Rallycross is a course on a huge piece of property at the Bancroft Fish and Game Club.  Oh and you don't need a co-driver/navigator for these.

The first Ontario Road Rally Cup event is January Jaunt, starting in Waterdown Saturday January 7. Details will be available soon. The next two events after that are Rideau Winter Rally in Perth January 21, and the ever-popular and very demanding Maple Leaf Winter Rally Feb 18-19 in Bancroft. The entire 2012 calendar will be posted soon at the RSO site.

In the meantime, send me a pm with your coordinates, and I'll add you to my ORRC update email list.
