Title: Lanark smack talk... Post by RyanHuber on 04/21/12 at 22:09:26 Alright, where's the smack talk for Lanark? Everyone ready? ;) I figure there's about 8 cars that have a legit shot at winning the rally, should be a good fight. We've got a few new names out there as well, should be great for them too! |
Title: Re: Lanark smack talk... Post by rosswood on 04/21/12 at 23:05:52 For sure should be some great competition. Unfortunately we likely lost Peter K yesterday when he blew his engine on the Test Day on his last run of the day. |
Title: Re: Lanark smack talk... Post by Jeannie VE3JNE on 04/22/12 at 10:20:02 I'll let you top-runners engage in the smack talk :D but I just want to say that PR works! I will be following the new team of Francois Gauvreau and Guillaume Roussin. I met Francois when we took the four-day Team O'Neill school last fall, and I talked a lot about LHFR. He finished Rallye Perce Neige (his first) and I was pleased to see that he's entered LHFR. I like everyone to enjoy my part of the world! :) Jeannie |
Title: Re: Lanark smack talk... Post by Do_It_Sidewayz on 04/23/12 at 09:17:36 Looking at the entry, i think we are going to have good battles all the way through the order. Good entries in Group 2! with a bunch of new teams and new cars! This is really to see! Should be a good battle at the top between us open guys as well. I'm looking forward to it. If we all make it to the finish, it will be tight! |
Title: Re: Lanark smack talk... Title: Re: Lanark smack talk... Post by darryl on 04/25/12 at 13:44:40 Does anyone else have the kahunas to beat the 7 minute stage time and join the ranks of Chris and Leo? You need to be moving really fast to get to below 7. - Darryl |

So at quick glance it seems Nick (A2) and Ryan (A6) had the loud pedal to the floor and got the impressive sub 7 times. I think Nick even beat Chris for the sub 7 time of the day |
Title: Re: Lanark smack talk... Post by John_Vanos on 05/07/12 at 14:39:50 2 brits time of 6:54.xx was an incredible time! Anyone know what Leo's fastest was in 2010? When we ran the 6:59.9 (HAH!) it was pretty obvious to us that our car at least wouldnt go much faster, so when we got 2 brits time we were pretty impressed! |

It shows a 6:44. http://kwrc.on.ca/2010/Results/Lanark/LHFR2010FiaProgr0A_5.htm |
Title: Re: Lanark smack talk... Post by gully on 05/07/12 at 15:12:21 Stage length when Leo got the 6:44 was 9.89kms This year stages where 10.66kms I will leave it to someone with a calculator to calculate the average speeds for both distances Pete g |

I'll have to check my in-car from last year, and compare to this year. But my gut says: Northbound 2012 (stages 1,3,5,7) were the same distance as 2011 Southbound 2012 (stages 2,4,6) were atleast a couple hundred meters shorter than 2011 None the less... 6:54 was fast! we were aiming for a "50" on SS4...but that didn't happen >:( |
Title: Re: Lanark smack talk... Post by RyanHuber on 05/07/12 at 15:32:55 Yeah, southbound was shorter this year than last, north was the same. I'm not sure if the road has gotten faster vs when Leo set that time or not, but I suspect a bit of it is the rest of us are upping our games a bit. Great stuff! |

Ryan According to Results distance is 10.66kms both directions. However that could be an error and I don't have a Routebook to check against Certainly some impressive driving by all. I felt that road to start the day was in better condition than past years Pete g |
Title: Re: Lanark smack talk... Post by RyanHuber on 05/07/12 at 19:02:09 Pete, is that distance control to control or to the FF? The Flying Finish was earlier this year, we had to change our notes. |
Title: Re: Lanark smack talk... Post by TomH on 05/08/12 at 21:28:10 I looked up Sandro Munari's time in the Lancia Stratos from the 74 Rideau Lakes. 7:22.2 and the stage was 8.45 km. As far as I remember it was at night and there were no pace notes. This was the first stage that I ever spectated. |
