Thanks to all who competed or worked on GCFR this year.

As you are aware we tried something different using part of the quarry as stage road. We intentionally used only a short segment as we wanted to learn if there would be any problems.

When setting the route we found two small water splashes about 3'' deep at most and about eight feet wide. Just perfect for a water splash. Mother nature decided they we needed more and deeper splashes.
Certainly unintended and hopefully not back next year.

Thinking ahead for 2013 we want to use quarry again possibly as a separate longer stage. We think we can get a 4 to 5 km section if changes are made as planned to the quarry.

We would like to get feedback from both competitors and workers regarding this. We would hope that it would not be as tight and twisty as this year. Which in part was intentional to keep speeds down. We had no idea what tire grip would be like.
