This Saturday, June 22nd, is the Work Day for the 2013 Black Bear Rally.

There are a number of tasks to be done on Saturday including:

- Delivering letters to residents on the public roads that are used as stages
- Checking stage roads and our security notes about them
- Doing minor repairs to stage roads, including filling some minor washouts and removing exposed rocks
- Brushing and other preparation of spectator areas
- Testing HAM repeater system ( call in frequency 146.610, tone 100.0)
- Removing trees that are down on the roads

We can use lots of people to assist with these tasks.

Meeting Location:
On Saturday we will meet at TC 19 (Intersection of Spruce Lake Trail and V Lake Trail) at 10:00A.M. TC19 is located at the following coordinates:

N 44 00.454
W 077 40.573

To get there - Go east from Hwy 62 on Upper Turriff Rd. for approximately 9.5 km to the junction of Upper Turriff Rd. (aka Spruce Lake Trail) and V Lake Trail. (There are no road name signs). TC 19 is 2.3 km. beyond Bradshaw Rd. Upper Turriff Rd. changes to Spruce Lake Trail just after Bradshaw Rd.

Be Prepared:
Come well prepared with food, drink, bug spray and sunscreen. Gloves are advised. If you have any tools like chainsaws, shovels, rakes, picks, pry bars, saws or clippers, please bring them along.

HAM Radio Frequencies:
For those of you who have HAM radio, the frequency for the day will be 146.610+ tone 100.0 with 146.580 simplex as back-up.

I unfortunately cannot be there, nor can Ross, so if you are calling on the radio Derek is VE3 DVJ and Norm is VE3 HWL.

See ya'll tomorrow. Anyone got a cell in case? I will aim to be there for 10 - but its a hell of a spin from here... and my bed is very comfortable.

Donal, I don't have a cell number for either Derek or Norm, but I am sure they will keep an eye out for you.
