The next Four Star Motorsports/MLRC rallycross is tomorrow - come out and play!  The schedule is moved up an hour, so registration will open at 9:30 and the first car will start at 11:00.

See you in Bancroft!

Results are now online for the September event.

http://www.mlrc.ca/rallycross/results.html

The club would like to send out a big thank you to all the workers and competitors who made this event a success.  We are very happy with the turnout and the response we are receiving.  We didn't manage to get a fifth run but we'll make every attempt to give you a fifth pass at the October event.

I think in order to get five (or more) runs in we need more workers, either one team for the top and one for the bottom, or one team setting up courses and one marshalling. That way there will be no time lost when we switch courses.

If anyone has any friends who want to help out, get them to volunteer. Or if you're a competitor and can help for part of a run let us know.

Hey, a big thanks to all of the folks who organized the event yesterday.  I just wish we could convince another RWD car or two to come out  Roll Eyes.  I had a royal hoot at the event.  To get a fifth run in, the courses will have to either be a bit shorter or something.  The lengthened courses (15-20 secs per run compared to the first rallycross) really adds up over 120 runs.  If you guys need some help at the next event, I'd be willing to do something(providing I can actually come to it, of course).  welp, have a good one all.  Anyone got a Dana 30 Truetrac sitting in their garage?  hah.

I'm in the middle of uploading all the pictures my mom took this past weekend, all in high rez, unedited. She got most of the cars, only maybe 2 or 3 she didn't get at least one shot of. Those of you that she missed, I apologize. Some cars that had multiple drivers I was unable to determine which driver was in the specific photo, in that case I put all applicable car numbers in the file name. Enjoy.

I had to pull them down. Used over 900mb of bandwidth in less than 24 hours. I don't want to kill the RSO site by hosting personal pictures. Once I've got them all croped and resized, I'll find a place for them online. If you're looking for something full rez of a specific car, I can email instead. ryan.huber@rallysport.on.ca

few quick questions: Is a passenger allowed in the car? (having signed waivers, with helmets etc)

I seem to have seen a picture or two on the site with a passenger taking photos:)

Also, how stupid would I be to take a reasonably new car out there? I don't think I'll be able to resist either way... :>

Should I be looking to install things like Skid-plates etc? I'm assuming that fine folks at FourMotorSports could help with that...

Pssengers are allowed as long as they wear an approved helmet and have signed the waiver.

If you don't care about your paint, sure, run a brand new car if you like.  Smiley  The gravel spray and occasional stone can act as a sandblaster.  Some people have added tape or vinyl protection to save their paint.  Remember, though, if you do not own the car (including leased cars) you must have written permission from the owner as indicated in the rules.  The potential always exists for more serious damage, too.

A skidplate is a wise idea, for peace of mind if nothing else.  You can push harder and not have to worry as much about breaking something important.  They aren't required but I think you'll find most of the front-runners have them.

... and if I do care about the paint? Shocked

what kind of 'vinyl protection' are we talking about then? Smiley

I've seen a DOT FMVSS 218 helmet that looks of the appropriate type, but is that sufficient? I don't know how all the DOT, Snell, SA, etc certifications compare...
