Topic: July 2,3 - MCO Race and advanced driving schools, Improve your performance driving skills

For those who want to learn high performance driving techniques should sign up for a great weekend school at Shannonville learning from some of Ontario's best racecar drivers. MCO puts on a top notch Race School and Advanced Driving School. For the full details, visit the MCO website... 395$ for the advanced driver school, 795$ for the more intense race school. Both events are being held simultaneously on the same weekend - it is the best bang for the buck around.

Additional Info:

During the weekend students rotate through the classroom and then on to the track for two days. Taking each theory session from the classroom and then applying it on the track. There is more track time than most people need, and by the end of the weekend, you will be exhausted. Students are grouped by similar skill levels.

It is a great opportunity to explore your skills and your car in a controlled environment with the help of some of Ontario and Quebec's best racecar drivers. If you like lapping Shannonville, you shouldn't miss out on this. It will help you improve, and then you can take what you learn here and help other newbies out when you go to other lapping days at Shannonville. The course is also very safety oriented - as organizers, safety is our first priority. We encourage people to come out and learn in a safe and controlled environment.

Students are also encouraged to ask questions, and it is important to communicate effectively with your instructor. If you are a person who needs a more talkative instructor and you don't feel you are getting the input you need - then talk to him/her - help direct your training if you feel that the instructor isn't concentrating on this that you find important to you. Make sure you get the targetted training you may be looking for. If that doesn't work talk to the chief instructor and request a different instructor - we don't get insulted. You are entitled to get different opinions on your performance! We try to be as accommodating as possible.

Students 'may' share cars, but this is a challenging request to fill sometimes. If you and a buddy want to share a car for the weekend, make sure that you talk to the organizer and see if the two students can be accommodated. The issue there is that if both students are novices, we like to keep you in the same group - which makes it impossible to share the car. If the two students have different experience levels it is easier to accommodate - but still can be challenging. Contact the club for more information...
