Guelph, Ontario -- The Planet Motorsport Rally Team, based in Guelph, Ontario, is set to tackle the upcoming Black Bear Rally.  This youthful team’s speed puts them first in the novice class in the Ontario Performance Rally Championship (OPRC).  The Planet Motorsport Rally Team, made up of driver John Vanos and co-driver Alan Ockwell, is keen to build on the experience and results earned at its first two events.

The team is eagerly awaiting the opportunity to test its brand new Hot Bits suspension.  Driver John Vanos said, “We are very happy to have Hot Bits as a partner on the Planet Motorsport Rally Team.  We look forward to further developing this suspension with Hot Bits and we know it will give us an edge over our competitors.”

Competition will be fierce with almost thirty entrants from Ontario, Quebec and the United States.  “We are looking forward to the challenge,” said co-driver Alan Ockwell.  “Our crew has done an excellent job of preparing the car during and between events.  We’re ready!”

Anticipation for the Black Bear rally has been building for longer than expected.  “Heavy spring rains damaged the Black Bear roads, resulting in a four-week postponement of the event.  But the organizing committee, working with the Ministry of Natural Resources, has done a tremendous job of repairing the stages,” said Vanos.  “The month-long delay has only increased our preparation and excitement for the event.”

The Planet Motorsport team debuted at the Rallye Perce-Neige in Maniwaki, Quebec in February.  Following the team’s success in round one of the OPRC, the team turned heads in the Gaspé region of Quebec at the Rallye Baie-des-Chaleurs with a top 15 finish in the national event.  The team plans to compete in the entire 2005 OPRC.
