Leaf Racewear & Safety Equipment Inc. joins the Rally of the Tall Pines to support competitors!

Richmond Hill, October 18, 2005 – Leaf Racewear of London, Ontario has joined the Rally of the Tall Pines to help support the event’s competitors with their racing safety equipment.

For over eighteen years Leaf Racewear & Safety Equipment has been a manufacturer and distributor of quality racing safety equipment and apparel worldwide. “Leaf Racewear has always had the philosophy of supporting competitors by helping them afford top of the line racing safety equipment, our involvement with the Pines reflects just that” said Adam Ross of Leaf Racewear Canada. The sponsorship will provide $25 gift certificates to all competitors that enter the Rally of the Tall Pines, which will run this November 25th & 26th, 2005 in Bancroft, Ontario. In addition, the first place winners in the National and Regional events will each receive a $100 gift certificate. Of particular importance to Leaf is that the highest Novice finisher of each class also be awarded a $50 gift certificate. Mr. Ross explains that “Leaf has always had an interest in contributing to the success of the competitors that are starting in the sport of rally; we are pleased to offer a specific package to Novice competitors”.

The awarding of the Novice prizes from Leaf will be determined according to the following definitions for National and Regional Novice. National Novice is set by the driver of the team and is defined as one who starts the season with four or fewer national performance rallies as first driver (not co-driver) and has not finished first or second in a previous national novice championship. Regional (RSO) Novice, again determined by the driver of the team, defines Expert as anyone who (1) is classed as a National Expert (2) finished first overall as a clubman (Novice) in any previous year (3) has been deemed by the RSO committee as Expert.

The Rally of the Tall Pines, one of Canada’s largest and best rally events, is fast approaching and news of Leaf Racewear joining has been welcomed with excitement. “Mounting costs to competitors is an increasing concern to the organizers, having a company such as Leaf that helps us reduce their cost is a valuable addition to the event and the competitors” commented Sponsorship Coordinator Francis Richard. The sponsorship is structured in such a way that everyone will enjoy a part of it, the top finishers and especially Novice competitors will get rewarded for their achievement in this traditionally challenging event. The Rally of the Tall Pines will mark the 6th and final round of the Canadian Rally Championship, and the event will also be celebrating its 35th consecutive year of running  with the Maple Leaf Rally Club.

Organizers are hard at work again this year to produce a heart-pounding event for competitors and spectators alike . The addition of new features such as upgraded VIP packages (which are already selling fast and furious), fabulous daytime and nighttime spectator areas, and a post rally party tent are sure to make this year’s event a resounding success.  For full details and all the up to date information visit www.tallpinesrally.com .

Route planning is nearing conclusion, this year will introduce a Notes Familiarization Pass to competitors which will allow them to customize the organizer supplied notes to their preference and get a preview of all stages of the rally.

The Rally of the Tall Pines is sanctioned by the Canadian Association of Rallysport and RallySport Ontario and is sponsored by L. Hansen’s Forwarding, CP Rail, the Town of Bancroft, Four Star Motorsports, Leaf Racewear & Safety Equipment Inc., Bancroft Rental, Wayne’s World Polaris, Tim Horton’s Bancroft, Pizza Delight Bancroft, ClearWater Design, Silverline Helicopters, StaggeredTime Solutions and the Maple Leaf Rally Club.
