Control Arm Bushings in Production Cars
12/30/5 at 23:57:23

Just want to verify that it is ok to upgrade my control arm bushings to polyurethane on the Talon. The 16 year old OEM units don't seem to be up to the task anymore. The upgrade is strictly for durability purposes ... well maybe a  slight handling increase.  Wink

The Rule book says that it's ok to change motor mounts and stuff like that, but i just wanted to make sure that the same is true for bushings.

Thanks for the help Guys

Thanks for the info.  Happy New Year to you as well.

I look forward to seeing those videos, especially Galway.  What is your website address?

Far as I know uprated bushings are NOT allowed in P4, they would be better than OEM and thus not allowed.

cant wait to see the videos either!

Ok then, guess I'm sticking with the OEM units. Thanks for the info John.  I was thinking about the bushings the same way as shock tower reinforcements - being allowed to make them stronger for durability purposes, so long as we don't change any mounting points etc.

I guess if you look at it from the point that uprated bushings increase durability as well as handling, then then they should be restricted to open vehicles.

Hopefully once I figure out how to consistently take jumps properly I won't be laying such a beating on the suspension, and I won't have this problem again.
