NOTICE of 2005 RallySport Ontario AGM

10:00 A.M.  - Old Town Hall – Newmarket, ON

The agenda for this meeting will be the usual AGM Agenda,  but two items are worthy of special mention and your consideration in advance:


(1)ELECTIONS – Two positions,  each for a two year term,  are up for election –

Vice President Navigational (position currently held by Ryan Huber)

Treasurer (position currently held by Alan Ryall)

Nominations for these positions may be submitted to any RSO Board Member in advance or from the floor at the AGM.


(2)TWO MOTIONS to CHANGE the RSO Bylaws – both duly submitted by Peter Gulliver of PMSC with his reasoning for each.

 Motion  # 1

8 OFFICERS

8.1 change to read  .....the President, Rally Director, two Vice
Presidents.......

8.3 change to read Subsequently, the President, Rally Director, one
Vice.....

9 DUTIES OF OFFICERS

Add 9.5 The Rally Director will represent the Corporation at the National
Level of Rally.

OTHER CHANGES  If approved other language changes will be required
4.1 change five to six and three to four.
4.2 change three to four

Reasoning

I think this would/should start in 2007.
We have argued that the President of RSO should not have to spend
considerable efforts working on behalf of CARS.
Terry has always argued that the RSO President is the Rally Director.
No where in CARS rules does it say this.
What can CARS do about it if they disagree?? Remove the sanctioning-rally
rights from RSO??
Who would replace it?
Who other than the current member clubs would host events etc. Its not like
there are thousands of people ready to take over.
RSO is a legally titled corporation, CARS is not a shareholder of RSO.
This motion would not stop a President from being Rally Director. The
election of first RD should be tied into next Pres election. Should a RD not
be elected [not hard to pass the word so it doesn't happen] the Pres could
assume the duty.

2.  MEMBERSHIP & DISCIPLINE

Change 2.1 to read .....
Membership shall consist of affiliated organized clubs, persons who are members of those affiliated clubs, and other organizations interested in furthering the objects of the Corporation who have paid the appropriate fees and levies.

12. QUORUM

12.1 Delete …in person..


13 Voting of Members

add new
13.2 Each member club shall have 1 vote.
13.3 Each club shall have additional votes for each RSO series [OPTIONAL Wording ‘Rally’ ] event organised.
