A friend of mine is selling a 1979 Volvo 242 GT, he asked if I could put it up for sale on some of the rally sites and lists.

Here are some details, can arrange for pictures, but it is currently stored until the first week of April.

.original BC car, excellent body inside and out, stored every Ontario winter, freshly painted the original silver last summer, manual sun roof – works fine, doesn’t leak

.2.1L engine, fuel injected,  never opened up, runs great, no oil consumption or smoking

.4 wheel disc brakes, new Bridgestones last summer

.4 speed with o-drive button on the shifter – works perfectly

.new exhaust from the manifold back

.interior perfect, no rips or cracks, complete

.power windows – work perfectly, original am/fm Volvo radio – works fine

.new rad 2 summers ago, all new hoses and belts

.new timing belt and valve cover gasket

.all lights including GT fog lights work

.probably only needs a brake service to safety once out of storage.

.completely reliable, don’t hesitate to drive it anywhere

.asking $3250.00 or best offer. Approximate KM around 300 000.





Nice driving rare vintage Volvo, or would be a great car to turn into a rally version. Targa or an old school RWD rally, never enough of these around.
