Well... hope the car is finished in time... this would be a great break-in before Lanark.

Even at that price, the club is just breaking even.

The reason Bancroft is so cheap is that the town gives us use of the property for free.

There is also a sponsor, offsetting some of the costs.

Compare to lapping days at a track ( $150-$250 / day), performance rallies ( $400- $500.00), etc.,  this IS cheap.

When you add up all the costs, it's actually cheaper than Bancroft if you are from southern ontario.

3 hrs to bancroft = about a tank of gas each way at $50.00 plus $40.00 fee = $140.00.

So at $60.00, only 1 hr from Toronto, it's about 1/2 price!

In my humble opinion, I would rather spend less TOTAL money and have more seat time.

That's I way I see it anyways.

So how many runs are you expecting, then?
I was comparing to autocross, which is typically about half that.

Autocross has pilons.... rallycross sometimes has pilons.

Only difference is our course tends to change a lot between runs... those ruts can get deeeeep.  (hope the Barrie track is a little harder ground).

Totally.
Its alot closer to that than the roadracing, and stage rally that he compared it to before he edited the post.
Call me cheap, but if you get 4 runs, thats $15 a run.
Doesn't that seem steep?

Steep? Dunno; considering that I only get to do it a max of 3-4 times a year (on a properly closed/legal/insured area...), I'd pay more than that for any seat time... plus, of course, the travel to bancroft is additional expense not only in terms of gas money, but also in terms of time.  Finally, I think they're hoping to get more than 4 runs in a day, but that'll all depend. I suppose, selfishly, it's that much better for me if not too many people come Wink

(And as for similarity to Autocross - again, a personal thing, seeing as I have close to no interest in Solo2 and a huge interest in rallycrosses :-> )
