PINES WORKER NOTICE Oct 9 06
10/09/6 at 05:36:59

This message is being sent to people who have either assisted at a previous Tall Pines rally or have indicated some interest in helping at rallies.  If you know of others who may be interested, pass this message along. Please excuse any cross-postings.

The Pines is fast approaching.  Hope you have kept the November 24-25 weekend open on your calendar.  The Pines keeps growing and adding exciting new features,  so we need your help more than ever to make it a success. In fact as the event grows we find that some of our previous workers are being recruited to other new functions not directly related to running the event, adding to the challenge each year for us to assemble sufficient volunteers to put on a safe event.

Check out the Pines website at www.tallpinesrally.com for details.

While on the website,  if you have not already registered,  please go to the worker section, complete the registration form and submit it.  Note – the website has been improved to simplify worker registration.  If you were registered as a worker last year,  you will simply check and update the information already in your file.  Returning workers should have received by now an e mail providing details of your username and personal password. If you have not received this,  just register as a new worker at  http://www.tallpinesrally.com/TallPines/Default.aspx?tabid=45  or send me an e mail directly at ross@tallinesrally.com for assistance.

To assist workers in finding accommodations at the Pines we have Trish Groom waiting to assist you. You can contact Trish at accommodation@tallpinesrally.com  She will help you find what you want,  ranging from Elmer’s Hunt Camp (super inexpensive) to lodges with full facilities and breakfast.  We are offering generous cash subsidies to workers who arrange to stay at specified sites through Trish.  In addition there are many other worker perks including free Tall Pines merchandise, a free post-rally dinner (much improved this year) and being entered in a draw for a kayak, courtesy of Clearwater Design.

We are offering competitors the opportunity all day Friday for  Stage Notes Familiarization passes again this year – some of it going on at the same time as Registration and Scrutineering  Meanwhile we will be doing the usual final route preparation, so we will need lots of helpers on Friday.  In addition Shakedown is back – scheduled on Friday evening. The rally runs all day Saturday as usual,  finishing with the Awards Banquet on Saturday evening in the party tent.

Rally Headquarters will be at the Dungannon Rec Centre on Hwy. 62 south.  Virtually  all activities including the Banquet will take place there.  The official WORKER’S MEETING will be held there at the  9 P.M. on Friday evening.

We also need lots of help on the WORK DAY on SATURDAY,  OCTOBER 21st.  Please advise if you can attend then by e mailing Ross Wood directly at ross@tallpinesrally.com  Anyone who assists on the Work Day will receive a $10 subsidy on the RallyCross on Sunday. Note – competitors are invited to assist on the Work Day.  This not only offers them an opportunity to contribute to the event, but also affords an chance to preview the stages.

If you have any further questions or concerns,  please feel free to contact me.

Ross Wood,  Clerk of the Course
