Best person to ask legality of floor pan work?

From the rules:

The original floor pan and firewall must remain and may be modified only to the extent necessary to accommodate
allowed alternate components. Roof mounted cooling vents are allowed.

I've got a 1959 Volvo PV 544 shell in my garage and I'm thinking about heading down the long road of fixing it up with an eye on competing with it someday.  The car is solid, except for the floor pans.. which are toast, and I wouldn't want to trust most of the lower frame members.

Who do I ask about what kind of repair work is allowed?  Would I have to replace it with reproduction floor pans and frame sections (pricey and time consuming)?  Or would I be allowed to fabricate something up as long as it was deemed safe and reasonable?

Thanks,

Andrew

I would ask one of the scrutineers for Ontario.  They are the one's who will eventually have to sign off on the car when you go to have it logbooked if you do decide to compete with it.  (nice car btw.  I've always liked them and I also wondered about how they would fair in modern day events as a classic entry)

For Ontario the scruitineers are Rob Metcalf and Brian Sharp.  They can be reached at scrutineers@rallysport.on.ca

Let me know what you find out - I have an old Volvo in what sounds like a similar state.

Thanks Anthony.  I'll definitely let you know.  I've got a bunch of old volvos.. I can't seem to pass a pre 77ish one thats for sale for around 500 bucks.

I would be interested in entering it in the Classic division.. but mainly I just want to compete.  If "period correctness" isn't taken too overboard then I'd go for it, otherwise the most economical way to compete is good enough for me!
