Bill 203, Ontario’s legislation to combat street racing, received its first reading in the Ontario legislature on April 12th.

You will see that this bill proposes fairly sweeping measures.

Alasdair Robertson is in close contact with the Minister of Transportation’s policy advisors to represent our interests in this matter.  He has already been assured that legitimate motorsport is not the intended target but Alasdair will be making every attempt to see that written into the regulations.

It is of the utmost importance that we present a clear and consistent message on this.  Thus the RSO Board is asking you to refrain from sending any personal messages to the government.  Please let Alasdair take the lead on this.  He is highly experienced in such matters.  Meanwhile input to the RSO Board and/or Alasdair is welcome.

In the meantime it is of the utmost importance that we all be circumspect in our conduct on the roads.
