The Canadian Association of Rallysport and Hankook Tire Canada Corp are pleased to announce that Hankook has become part of the Canadian Rally Championship through the creation of a contingency program.  The contingency program will consist of two parts offering competitors running on Hankook Ventus Rally tires, purchased through approved Canadian vendors, the opportunity to win $16 000 while offering financial support to each of the remaining events in the championship.

“CARS is very pleased that Hankook Tire has become part of the Canadian Rally Championship.” said Terry Epp, national series manager.  “Tires play a major role in rally performance and this contingency program for Hankook Ventus Rally tires will offer our competitors an opportunity to win on the special stages as well as financially.”

Jeff Bullock, National Service Manager for Hankook Tire Canada, said, “Hankook feels that the Canadian Rally Championship is an excellent venue to demonstrate the superior quality of our tires. 2006 was our first year in the CRC and our partnership with FourStar Motorsport’s Frank and Dan Sprongl and Suzuki Canada resulted in both marque and driver Canadian Champion titles in Production 2.”

The 2007 contingency program will offer both financial incentives for using Hankook Ventus Rally tires by offering $2400 per event in prize fund plus $4 000 in year-end bonuses spread over four different class groupings.  Complete contingency details are available on the CARS web site (www.carsrally.ca).
