RALLYCROSS CHANGE OF PLANS
07/16/7 at 16:16:13

                                                                                                               July 16 07

Due to some zoning issues that have arisen for the Burnt River Facility,  the first  RallyCross in the RSO Four Star Motorsports Summer RX Series has been rescheduled to Sunday, July 29th at the Bancroft site.  Registration will begin at 10 AM.

At the present time we are hoping to hold the September RX at the Burnt River site as planned, however if the situation is not resolved by that time, the alternate date and location will be Saturday, September 22nd at Bancroft – 10 AM Registration.

So the revised schedule is as follows:

Sunday, July 29th – MLRC – Bancroft – 10 AM Registration

Sunday, August 26th – MLRC – Bancroft -  10 AM Registration

Sunday, September 23rd – PMSC – Burnt River – 10 AM Registration

Sunday, October 28th – MLRC – Bancroft – 10 AM Registration

Full RX Rules will be posted on the RSO website in the next few days, however the only real change is in regard to helmets – all participants must wear a helmet with a rating of Snell 1995 M or SA or newer.  Any helmet that meets the CARS 2007 requirements for performance rallies is acceptable.

To assist us with our planning, we are asking RX competitors to go to the RallySport Ontario website at www.rallysport.on.ca and register in advance.

So get that car ready for some fun.

Hi!
We are a team from Montreal, Quebec that would like to participate in this RallyX (29th july). We are both members of the Club auto sport La Licorne and we would like to know if we need to be members of a Ontario club or if there is anything else we need to be able to participate.

Thanks for the info! and hope to see you there!!

You do not have to be a member of an Ontario club.  Just be sure to have a suitable helmet.

Come on out and have fun.

What kind of car will you be driving?

Hi!
Thanks for the quick answer! We have a wrx 2002 P4 (no rollcage for the moment, just a skid plate, good brake pads and a terratrip).

We are doing all the event possible in Quebec, but there is not alot of them...so we decided to come and have fun with you guys!!

What type of road will be used for the event (loose gravel, hard pack, smooth or rough terrain)

Can't wait to be there!
Max

Hi Max,

We run two different courses at our events in Bancroft. The soil is loose everywhere, mainly sand based. One course is on a mainly flat area around a group of buildings. This course is generally very smooth but does rut up a fair bit.

The second course is in a gravel pit, again very sandy, but there tends to be more mixed in rocks (not terrible, but you have to ignore the clangs off your skidplate).

The courses tend to be between 1 and 1.5km long, taking roughly a minute and a half to two minutes to compete. You likely won't get out of second gear anywhere.

Everyone who comes seems to enjoy themselves, hope to see you there!

I'm sure you will have fun.  It will be worth the drive.

Looking forward to meeting you next weekend!

Bring some other cars from Quebec.

Ross Wood, RSO RX Coordinator

P.S.  Would appreciate if you would do the advance online registration on the RallySport Ontario site at www.rallysport.on.ca

Sounds like the makings of some inter-provincial rivalry!  Bring it on!

Right now, someone somewhere is practicing, and when you face him, he will beat you.

I'm trying to bring more cars...but no luck for now  Undecided

We are searching for a campground  on the road from Toronto to Bancroft (preferably close to a lac or a beach). Do you have suggestions?

Thanks! and can't wait to compete against you guys!!!

PS: We will do the advance online registration today.

Never been there, but right on hwy 28 is Silent Lake provincial park.  Typical park fees apply... ~$28 a night for a single site; you provide the tent.

There are lots of small trailer parks w/ camp sites along the way, but I don't know any of the names.
