Tall Pines Work Day:
This Saturday,  October 27th,  is our Work Day in Bancroft for the Rally of the Tall Pines.  There are a number of tasks to be done in Bancroft on Saturday including:
•Posting road closure notices as required by our road permission contracts
•Delivering letters to residents on the public roads that are used as stages
•Checking stage roads and our security notes about them
•Doing minor repairs to stage roads,  including filling some minor washouts and removing exposed rocks
•Brushing and other preparation of spectator areas
•Testing HAM repeater system ( call in frequency 147.285+)
We can use lots of bodies to assist with these tasks.  A number of you have already volunteered.  If you have not and are able to help,  please advise us today by updating your Worker Profile on the Worker Info Center website. You may also contact ross@tallpinesrally.com with any questions. If you  are already committed to a task please advise me ASAP by e mail.
Morning Meeting Location:
On Saturday we will meet at Castledine’s Corner (night-time spectator point) between 9:30 and 10:00 A.M.  To get there go north from Apsley on Hwy 28 approximately 19 km to Dyno Rd.  Turn left onto Dyno Rd.  Go 3.6 km then turn left at the Y junction onto Homestead Rd.  Follow for 1 km then bear right onto the forest access road.  Continue less than 1 km to Castledine’s Corner.
Afternoon Meeting Location:
If you can’t come until later in the day or miss us,  look for us at the main Spectator Area at the Watters Farm.  To get there,  go south from Bancroft on Hwy 62 to Quarry Rd.  Turn left on Quarry Rd.  Follow to the end.  Tee Left onto Bronson Rd., proceed over the iron bridge and up the hill to the Spectator Area.
Be Prepared:
Come well prepared with food,  drink and lots of warm clothing.  Gloves are advised.  If you have any tools like shovels,  picks and pry bars, saws or clippers,  please bring them along.
