2008 MCO Snowcross series.
01/10/8 at 23:23:57

We just had our first event before the big thaw, it was awesome, over 50 cars, night event and perfect snow! hope to see some of you at the next one.

It's the old SnS event, If you're not familiar with it, it's a autoslalom type event, with rally inspired scoring. The runs are cumulative, mess up and it could be costly. It's not always the fastest car that wins.  Cheesy Cheesy

dates and times are subject to change! Mother nature has been known to not play nice, so remember this all depends if there is enough 'base' to still run the important winter driving schools!

Events open to members and nonmember, come on out and be part of the winter fun!

Prizes available from our good friends at Talon tire and maybe another supporter, details soon.

For NIGHT events, please have at least one working headlight and tail-light.
MCO will provide reflective safety vests for you when marshalling, they must be worn.
Over head facility Lights will be used. They light up the paddock and winter oval track very well.

For all events,
Speed limit on the Access road and paddock is 10KPH ...save it for the track.
Make sure your vehicle has no leaks.

Clean off all the salt crud before entering the facility.
Please do not walk in front of the timing truck and always go to the drivers side to get your run times.
Please bring a shovel to help get the snow back on the track at the end of the day.

This next one is very important. We don't have access to the facility without the MCO Winter Driving School. The school is an important part of the MCO and the community. Not only does it help raise funds for our events like the Calabogie Goodwood Festival, it provides a great service to the city of Ottawa by producing safer winter drivers.

We need to be a part of the Winter School Program. That said, we are taking the approach used in the Rally Championship season.

To earn points in the MCO SNOWX Championship, a participant will need to have worked at least one winter driving school event.

Be safe, have fun.... go fast Homer.
can i attend snowx if i am not running for champinship, I'd like to practice  winter driving? Is it ok to use daily car, or there is a risk of damaging the car.
yup, no need to be in the championship.

best place to practice driving!

I use daily driver, lots of people do.

There's always risk in anything we do, if you have hubcaps try and remove them and best advice is stay off the snowbanks anyway, they just slow you down.  [wink]

Due to the recent weather, the WDS has not been able to hold a school yet, so we are moving the Jan 27th event.

Here is the current schedule.  Of course weather permitting. Thanks for your patience, and please let Ron know if you can help at the new school dates.
