2000 Subaru Forester Dynastar
Preamble:
Vivienne bought this car new in 2000. Erik drove it for a couple of years for work and Viv has been driving it again since 2006. We have bought a new Forester, so we are reluctantly offering this one for sale. The suspension on this car is phenomenal and the intake and exhaust have really woken up the engine. The car has been absolutely reliable and very versatile.
The Dynastar was a very low production, skier-oriented package offered only in the fall of 2000. This package included the following functional and cosmetic upgrades to the base L model Forester:
Raised suspension (about 1" higher than the base Forester) Light silver upper/darker silver lower paint scheme with Dynastar badges Heated front seats Heated mirrors Running boards Roof rack crossbars Leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob Keyless entry
The L model Forester had fog lights, cruise control, reclining rear seats, front map lights and rear drum brakes.
The good stuff:
All major service after warranty performed by CanJam All lubricant changes done on time at various locations Recent clutch, all brakes, rear wheel bearings, timing belt, serpentine belt, front exhaust pipe, (CanJam) Absolutely no accidents of any kind
Extra stuff added:
STi version 7 struts and springs (the car now sits at the same ride height as a stock 2.5RS) Scoobiesport exhaust Whiteline steering rack mounts Cold air intake STi rear 18 mm sway bar Rear strut brace Subaru Legacy five-spoke alloy wheels with summer tires (not high performance) Subaru CD player Rear tonneau cover
Spares included with this car:
Original rear exhaust section (still in good shape) All original intake plumbing K&N air filter Aluminum front skid plate and mounting hardware (not presently installed) Original struts with springs (shocks in fair condition) Trailer hitch (removed to fit the Scoobiesport exhaust), flat 4 wiring harness installed. This car towed only a box trailer or a 13' 750 lb camper trailer.
The bad stuff:
Two small rust spots (one under the passenger front door handle and one on the rear hatch release handle) Road rash and scratches consistent with a car of this age and mileage Slight tire-contact dent in RF fender, one door ding in RR fender Punctured and patched LF headlight (a good used replacement goes with the car) The clock has stopped working (don’t know why) Abrasions on the roof caused by the Car 99 roof lightbar from the Black Bear Rally in 2006 A/C doesn’t work (everything else does) 207,000 km,
$4,000 obo
Will post pics when I get a chance to wash the car and vacuum it out.
