Subaru Impreza Toy

Special note for Rally people:
The car is currently set up for road course use. But, I can very easily convert it to rallycross/TSD spec. I love wrenching on this car and would be happy to customize the setup for anyone interested. Skid plates, gravel tires, smaller sway bars, taller ride heights, I’ve got many possible setups that can go on this car.

The Car:
The car is a white 1997 Impreza L with ~180,000kms. It was bought from new for motorsport purposes (first owner).  It was the 99 Car in the Tall Pines Rally and competed in numerous rallycross and winter TSD’s. A couple years ago the car kissed a snow bank – HARD. The airbags deployed and the front bumper skin, rebar, passenger headlight and lower radiator support took a good hit. Lots of aesthetic damage. The owner at the time had the damage corrected and listed the car for sale. It sold and became a daily driver for four months (second owner) until I contacted the owner wanting to buy the car (third owner). I knew the vehicle history and potential. I’ve owned it for nearly two years. All of the modifications (listed below) other than the transmission (fourstar installation), were installed be myself or with the help of a good friend.

The car is SOLID and very reliable. NO structural rust. NO rot. NO rusted through rear wheel arches like many Imprezas of its time.

Brakes:
WRX Calipers in the front (rebuilt – less than 1000kms)
WRX Calipers in the rear (~70,000kms)
Hawk DTC-70 pads in the front (1 track day)
Hawk HT10’s in the rear (a bit more than half the pad material is left)
SS Goodrich brake lines front and rear
Motul RBF 600 fluid

Drive Line:
Stock 2.2l motor, run with synthetic oil – changed ever 2-3000kms
Excedy single plate organic clutch (~50,000kms)
JDM close ratio 1st-3rd RS transmission – Motul 300, changed regularly (less than 100,000km’s)
JDM STi motor mounts
Group N transmission mount
Front/Rear Kartboy shifter bushings

Suspension:
WhiteLine 22mm front swaybar
WhiteLine 20-22mm adjustable rear swaybar
WhiteLine front and rear “Heavy Duty” endlinks
OEM inner and outer tie-rods (less than 20,000kms)
WRX rear hubs (~70,000kms)
WRX wagon trailing arms and lateral links (less than 20,000kms)
Turn in Concepts v2 fender cowl braces
Group N strut top mounts (less than 10,000kms)
KYB AGX’s 4-way front, 8-way rear (less than 10,000kms)
Eibach ‘Pro Kit’ springs installed (less than 10,000kms)
JDM STi “Sport-B” springs NEW (ordered through rallispec, from STi Japan)
Front strut tower brace
Camber bolts for all four corners

Interior:
Safe Drives FIA homologated 6-point cage with door bars
BSFI certified roll cage padding in the helmet area and potential helmet area.
Fully stripped
No interior comforts
All sound deadening tar has been removed
Carpets and trim panels removed
Radio removed
Other than A/C, if it wasn’t a function of fast, it was removed.
A/C still connected (couldn’t bring myself to take it out)
Floor/interior painted primer gray

Wheels/Tires:
ROTA Slipstream 16X8 gunmetal black ET48 (1 track day)
Hankook Z211 235/46/16 medium compound (1 track day)

Reason for selling:
I love this car! But, narrow gravel roads keep calling and the empty shell in my garage needs a CARS legal cage. So, I’m looking to see if there is any interest in my track toy.
I’m open to offers, and I’d sell the car with almost any variation of the parts listed above. Thanks for your interest. E-mail any questions to:
Daniel (dash, not underscore) Buehler {at} h o t m a i l {dot} com.

Hey,

The car can come in many different configurations for either gravel or track. It would be easiest if you could e-mail me. My address is listed on the very last line of the first post. The price will vary depending upon how you might like the car...
