looked through the rules and the RSO website before posting.

i had heard from a competitor that helmets are available to rent the day of the event, and just wanted to confirm this.

Hi Grant,

Some competitors may have helmets they'd be willing to loan out, but the club doesn't have any to rent. I know the MCO snowcross events in Ottawa have helmets to rent but we do not.

That said, a basic SNELL M2005 rated helmet is probably not all that expensive and you could pick one up at most motorcycle shops.

Hope that helps.

Ryan

If that's the case, then what happened to the SA-95 helmet I donated to the club as a loaner?

Jeff, who did you give it to? When was that? I've never heard of this helmet!

If you're talking about the mlrc rally this weekend in Bancroft, I have a Snell M2005 helmet that I'll be using. Its about a medium...its a full face, but when I'm not using it, I'm sure you could borrow it.

Speaking of which, is there anything against driving with a driver side sideview mirror? I'm working on getting mine replaced after it was hit, but just in case I don't get it replaced in time, I want to make sure I can still race this weekend.

ps, bundle up, because its supposed to be COLD in Bancroft this weekend!

I hope to attend.  Any important notes for newbies to the Fish and Game club location?  Such as, no access to washrooms, bring food, etc.?

I won't be making it out this time, but:

I think the pizza lunch is the same as always... Water juice and coffee provided onsite. Washrooms, heated areas to warm up... Luxury!

There is a gas station/convenience store, literally across the road from the entrance.

And the track is pretty bitchin' too!

Hey Steve,

We're going to have pizza lunch delivered, and there are drinks there for a small donation. There are washrooms inside.

The entrance to the club is just north of the Esso station on hwy 28 south of town, on the opposite side. If you get to the tire shops you've gone too far.

The course itself is a little bit of a walk/drive from the building, a couple hundred meters maybe, though other than space to stage upcoming cars there probably isn't room to park down there if you want to spectate.

Are you bringing the STi or the legacy?

I'm trying to remember who I gave it to.  Maybe Bryn?  Maybe James?  Maybe Anthony?  Someone involved in organizing the rallycrosses at the time, anyhow.  Unfortunately, I'm having trouble remembering; it was several years ago.

When SA-95 stopped being legal for performance rallying (when was that?  2005 or 2006?) I had no more use for it for co-driving, so I asked someone at the club if they could use it for rallycross as a loaner; they said yes, so I gave it to them at a club meeting... I just can't remember who I gave it to.

It's a plain white Bell Mag 4.  I think I peeled my name off it, but It probably still has remnants from the adhesive where I removed the Terraphone mic boom.  It may still have a small Pikachu sticker under the visor as well (long story).

Jeff - donating a helmet was a nice idea, Thanks!
Alas, it didn't get passed on through me.

Thanks, guys.  Yeah, like I said, I can't remember who in the club I gave it to.  If it wasn't either of you, then I'd say the most likely person is Bryn, but that's still just an educated guess.

I'd forget my head if it wasn't attached.   Sad

Sorry guys but I don't remember any helmet being donated but, then again memory is short and fickle.  Trying to think back.... arrg!

Jeff, your note the only one who'd forget their head if it wasn't attached..... Undecided

Hmm.  So not Bryn either.  I have no idea, then.

So... if anyone reading this finds a Pikachu-adorned helmet in their basement and doesn't know how it got there, now you have a reason to go to the rallycross!  Cheesy
