Well i sold my accord. got an offer i couldn't refuse from a guy i met at Rally NY. now im in the market for another car but im not sure what im going for yet. id like to start off in the 2wd classes most likely fwd open but id try awd production so im in the hunt for my new car.
*id prefer to build it myself. i will look at any offers but i lean more towards building my own.
*don't underestimate them doesn't mean im a fan but i have seen what Sentras can do first hand this weekend

B13 Sentra with SR20VE, SR16 gearbox & FD, brakes from an NX2000.
Lightweight, struts all around with pretty good travel, 4 or 5 real rally suspensions available, can run on 14" tires with nearly indestructible NX2000 rims. Donor car can be had for a song - look in the US outside the rustbelt. Common enough to get parts very easily, a car that has rallying in its DNA (N14 Pulsar - both 2WD & AWD) but not a rally car that's been done-to-death (like yet another Legacy, Impreza, Golf...)

It has been recently suggested to me,
the best bang for you buck is.
if GROUP 2- ford focus (Very reliable and cheap to build naturally aspirated motor with lots of power)
if GROUP 5- GOLF (throw in a 1.8t)

I agree with the Focus. Early 2000, 2001 and 2002 cars are cheap. They made ton's of them and they seem to be rerasonable rally cars other than the rear suspension. I think they will become like A2 Golfs. Parts in the junkyard cheap!
If a Golf, I would be thinking A3 not A2's. Rust-free A2s are pretty hard to find in Canada. A3s are plentiful and are slightly heavier but once stripped down the difference is not that much.

and no its not going to be my rally car so keep the suggestions coming. then again. maybe after i let this thing breath a little it might be good enough to use to get my rally licensing. i haven't joined the club yet... i was planning to wait until i moved to hamilton but i might join now. should i wait? lots of questions sorry
