I think that this is have the issue, everyone seems to think that this is going on a rallyx car. It is not and if take a car with 90hp or 130hp and put it on the street/ hwy/ track days / solo most people would find that they would want more power. I could not agree more that power is not everything. However 170 hp on mosport and the ocassional trip to shanonville to run what you brung night etc.. has me wantinjg more power. I guess me and a few people just have to agree to disagree.

Cory, I am not sure you explained what you were up to well enough. I think that a number of us would understand quite well that for track days on tarmac, 170 Hp is pokey.

However I think there is a number of important factors here:

1. Being a 2009, I assume your car is still under warranty.
2. As Ryan pointed out Subie N/A engines are not well regarded for taking boost.
3. This is your DD. Don't screw around with your DD unless you like taking the bus.

IMHO, I think if you have decided that you want a turbo, then sell or trade the 2.5i and buy a WRX or a WRX 265. In the end you will be much better off to spend the money you would on a turbo kit and installation on a new car, than some frankenstein turbo'd 2.5i.

Cory, it seems you have the power bug, what will you do when you get bored of 5psi on the OEM block? If you want to go as far as changing everything around the block, you might as well change the block as well.

135hp was fine for me at MIR. Anyone can go fast on the back straight. You don't need more than 135hp to slide from the apex of T2 to the inside entrance of T3... Cheesy

The big nut (behind the wheel) always needs more torque...

Cory their seems to be a lot of controversy about what works and what does not,on Saturday i'll give you a number for a fella that can sort "ALL" of this out "with" you ,the thing that i find assuring is that Rod "insists" on your input through the "whole" process. He makes all his own "cold piping"intakes"headers(by the way he refuses to use cheap ass mild steel that you get in that "BIG BOX" ****,"stainless only") he is a excellent welder never seen better. He also has a creative working knowledge with regard to turbos/he also has access to some of the "BEST" in automotive computers and/piggy back/standalone. He is very down to earth and first and foremost he is "reasonable" dollar wise.As an example of his knowledge."WE" created a system for my drag/street car that makes 725 hp on 20 psi/ and its stand alone,5ys ago and it still reliable/and quite streetable. I understand you're not looking for those numbers,but you want something that's going to do the job consistently,with out constant headaches and busted knuckles

I do agree that a turbo is not the best sulution to my hp problem. I am sorry if I did not explain it weel enough. I think that I will just have to do the suspension and wheels tires etc.. ( handling stuff). I do have the hp bug but I will wait untill I can get a wrx or sti. I have tried to talk myself out of the hp bug but I just can't. Thanks for all of your post and input I do listen to them. See you on sunday.
