Car is a 1990 Volkswagen Golf GTI that has been prepared for CASC road racing. It last raced in 2007. I bought the car in June 2008 and it has been sitting in the garage since then.
- Full roll cage extending to front struts
- No rust on shell
- Motor is a 2.0l 8v AEG from a 1998 Beetle, with tranny from same
- Neuspeed chip, cam timing gear
- custom exhaust
- Bilstein sport shocks with Neuspeed race springs
- Neuspeed rear sway bar, Eibach front strut brace
- Poly bushings all around
- All suspension/brakes from a Mk3 GTI VR6 Driver's Edition (wide track, 5 bolt conversion, 11.3" front brakes)
- new Brembo rotors/ Hawk Blue pads front and rear, braided lines all round with Wilwood proportioning valve
- lots of spares, including another set of wheels/tires (Toyo Proxes RA-1)
The car starts and runs fine, the idle is lumpy because it either needs a throttle body alignment (done via VAGCOM), or new TPS sensor. Otherwise the car is ready to go. Has new fluids and a full tank of Sunoco 94. All it needs is a seat and belts and it's ready to go.
Perfect trackday car or regional level road race car. Begging for a 24V VR6 or 1.8T swap.
Asking $3000 OBO.
