I don't know the specifics of this rule however it is specific, in Production if it doesn't say you can, then CAN'T.

That's the impression I'm left with, but in the end it probably simplifies things in every regard.which makes my job, and this build a lot less complicated. Thanks for your input.

It is specifically described in the rule book.

Production Class Vehicles, Brakes:

"If an anti-lock braking system (ABS) is standard, the ABS device may be disconnected, but not removed."

Have you read the rule book yet?

So yes... you can disable (remove fuses/electrical connections), but you can't remove the system.  Removal might change the brake bias, and cuts out weight.

Actually Doug its not an easy read...One can be certainly overwhelmed by the regulatory necessities. Although i fully understand the safety aspects and their purpose its a tall order at 42,and knowing now that any experience i gained in 23 years of drag racing is useless now, its like starting over.Having to leave fabrication to outside sources for fear of being overly scrutinized by RSO/C.A.R.S has been a tough pill to swallow.Getting my wife proper training with regard to navigation/co-driving skills is another hurtle we must face.We did a lot of soul searching and research with regard to Rally and our intention is to see it through. If there is any constructive advice or direction you can provide please do so,I apologize if i offended your expertise by missing that notation in the C.A.R.S Rule Book.

The CARS rulebook print is pretty small for most readers.

What I have done is downloaded rules from CARS web site and saved.

When I want to check a rule Open with Adobe Reader 8  [possibly other PDF readers work the same] and type in the item I am searching for in question space [IE 'anti lock brakes'] Hit enter and program will search for every occassion of anti lock in the rule book.

Recently I needed a ruling on an item, searched the book manually for 20 minutes  Could not locate, one minute using Acrobat search and I had the answer
