Anybody catch this?

I'm on the fence about this one. Having a radar detector in your car is a bonehead move. 50 over is another wrong move. Only thing I've got to say about it is it seems like they were lead to the lion's den.
Thoughts?

Thoughts?
You didn't read the article.
The event organizer should have NEVER told the cops what they were doing.
If the members knew that the cops knew, they were dumb to speed.
The cops are looking for attention, and don't care how they get it.
The media is more irresponsible, and less trustworthy every day.

Ummm, yeah I read the article. I actually read several more regarding the situation and eventually found a response to the article from a "member" of the group. I was just attempting to drum up some friendly opinionated conversation. I thought that is why these google machines were invented.

That Auto blog story is inaccurate. I've known and been following that story for a few days now. There is much more than the simplistic, sensationalist overview of that blogger. If he was going to report the story at all, he should have gotten his facts correct.
