Need help finding a XL racing seat
07/22/10 at 17:53:24
OK so I am a BIG guy and I need a race seat. Does anyone know anything other then the evo3 for large seats. I have not sat in a evo3 yet but there seem to be SO many seats out there and SO much info I am starting to get lost in it all. The largest seat that I have found is VELO racing but they are only in AUS as far as I can tell and they are $1300 per seat+shipping. Any help would be great.
Thanks
Cory

No offense to Ian... but have you tried contacting Ian Crerar? I know he's got a 'wide' physique... "Fat Guy Racing"...
Might be able to help you find a good seat.
Jamie Gardhouse can probably advise too.

Finally a topic to which I am
very
qualified!
Only question is how tall and wide are you exactly???
Do you want head restraints?

Nor sure how big you are but I am 6'1 about 245lbs with fairly wide frame. I picked up Sabelt RACER DUO seat this year from CSC... entry level I am sure not the most comfortable but I do fit in it with my suit on ok.

6'4" 250lbs
I've fit nicely in a Sparco Pro ADV, Sparco Evo2 and racetech HR Seat. I'd suggest coming to GCFR and sitting in a few seats there to see what you really need

FIA 1992 - No longer legal for stage rally.
Rallycross, yes. Performance rallies, no.

I tried EVO2's but needed the additional size from the EVO3's I think they were the widest seats when I was looking last year. I was able to sit in a variety of seats at JRP in Mississauga.
Hope this helps
