15" versus 16" Snows
11/13/10 at 19:20:24
Hello all,
I have a good set of 15" snows and rims from my 98 Outback, sized 205/70x15. I now have a Forester that uses 215/60x16 tires. I have checked and found that the tire height is with.1 of inch so that's not a big deal.
Does anyone know if the 15" rims will clear the calipers et al on the Forester? The dealer says no but I believe that others are doing this on the Impreza platform.
Thanks in advance for your help ...
and Good Luck to all who are out and about with the Tall Pines.
Cheers!

Glenn...
Not sure what year your Forester is, but subaruforester.org says that on an '05 (and everything newer I suspect) he 15" wheels are a non-starter unless you wanna take a grinder to the calipers.

Take care.

Well the good news is that the Fortester is a 2004 XT. Thanks for the info and I'll give it a try.
