I'm sure that level will come down quite a bit over the next couple weeks.

It was James himself who hooked up the strap. He had his big rubber boots with him, so I don't believe he got wet.

The air intake on that car is down very low. Unbeknownst to James, sometime during the day prior to going through this water, the air filter had fallen off, so the car drank a bit of water. Luckily it seems that no permanent damage was done and the car started again after a few minutes of anxious cranking, although the car ran in limp mode for quite a while.

That water is about as deep as I have seen it for quite a while. As Ryan said, unless we have heavy rains in the next week, it will almost certainly go down. I hope to get up there mid week to check.

Nevertheless part of good car preparation is waterproofing.

The Brilliant VW engineers ( I Am NOT Being Sarcastic ) have a removable tow hook that actually screws into the front of the vehicle Shocked. He didn't even need to kneel down under the vehicle to hook up the strap Grin.

My 95 Golf had one of those. I am not sure how long VW's have had them. Just don't tow too far with them.

I had one almost come out after towing a few miles. They will start to unthread from the vehicle movement.
