Tech Help: Subaru Wiring - Driving Lights
06/03/11 at 22:46:31
Over the last couple of days, I have been installing a couple of Hella 700FF's. I finished everything tonight and fired up the car and great they work! Wait a minute, they only work on Low beam not High beam.
I tied the line that is supposed to activate the relay into the red wire on the left headlight. According to the FSM wiring diagram that should be the high beam, which I confirmed by taking readings with a multimeter.
What have I screwed up here?

Forget it - I figured it out.
On a negative-switched circuit the off position will have 12V. The low beams and high beams are not on at the same time. Tie-in to the low beams and now the lights only come on when the high beams are on.
