Extinguisher inspections
03/07/12 at 10:38:43

Hi all,

I'm due to get my fire extinguishers inspected and re-tagged, and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on who to go to for that. The place I bought them from doesn't service. Preference for Mississauga or Brampton.

Thanks

Ryan

Ask the Facilities guys (if you have that dept.) where you work, where they get them done.

May even be able to get them done for the "bulk" price.

If you don't have that dept., then check with the building owner/landlord/caretaker etc.

(From a Facilities Guy!)

In my experience, getting them re-inspected meant recharging as well, and that cost almost as much as getting a new extinguisher.

If you get them re-inspected/charged, be sure to check the pressure gauge when you pick them up. One of my recharged ones wasn't showing any pressure and I had to run around after recce at Tall Pines to buy one  Angry

Then it went off in the van, so I guess it had some pressure Sad

The extinguishers I have are pretty expensive, I wouldn't want to have to buy more! Anyway, I spoke with our plant manager, he said I could get them inspected when we get the rest done here in a few weeks, so I'm set. Thanks for the ideas all!
