You are right - it is an inter-club (non ORRC) event. I believe that Alan R. is the prime mover. I have sent him an email.

The premise for the All-Ontario, Multi-Club, Monte Carlo Extravaganza and Social Rally (not it's real name - yet) is 3 rallies with separate start locations, with each meeting up at a common end-of-leg site, From there, all teams will do a common 2nd leg into the Pinehurst Conservation Area for a BBQ.

KWRC, SPDA and MLRC will be setting up the three rallies, which will be beginner-friendly. KWRC will have this as one of their SNATR series, and will be hosting the BBQ. Entry fees will be modest.

We're still in the initial planning stages, but the hope is to have one of the rallies be suitable for classic cars (paved), and another maybe a little bit more of a challenge. The picnic will offer the opportunity to meet up with fellow ralliests, new ralliests, passers-by, squirrels, etc. It will be a chance to swap stories, check out some cars, and so on.

If the event goes well, it may be added to the ORRC series next year, but there are problems associated with doing that.
Stay tuned for more as we pull this all together.

What, 50-year-old cars can't handle gravel?

Ok, in all seriousness I know not everyone is as happy to thrash their aged beauties down the rough stuff as I am - and ANYTHING that helps bring out more old cars so that they are DRIVEN as they should be has to be a good thing.

Bruce, what's the best way to stay up to date with this so that I can try to help promote this amongst the classic fraternity?  I will make it my personal mission to get at least one more classic out to mix it with "The Beast"  Grin

Opal will be doing promo for the event. I assume she'll be putting together a poster that can be posted to other forums. Stay tuned.
