Looking For: Snell SA approved helmet for Rallyx
10/07/12 at 19:01:19

Hi all,

I'm just getting into rallyx and was wondering if there were any gently used helmets out there that people would be willing to part with. I don't need anything fancy (ie radio not req'd), no preference towards open/full face. My current Gmax ATV/snowmobile helmet is a large

Thanks,

Kevin

Kevin, you don't need an SA rated helmet unless your car has a cage:

1.2.3 Mandatory equipment
Helmets bearing "Snell Memorial Foundation" 1995 M or SA (or more recent) labels must be worn by all drivers and passengers. Only SA-labeled helmets are acceptable for use in cars equipped with roll cages. Any helmet approved by the current CARS performance rally regulations is acceptable. Minimum three point seat harnesses must be worn by drivers and passengers.

The car I drove in Sept and will be in Oct has a partial cage, so  thats why I'm looking for an "SA' one. I'd rather by the higher standard and then I have it rather then get one thats to M standard and have to get another one if I get a car with a cage later on

I bought my SA rated G-Force helmet from the US on-line and it was a good deal. Open face under $200.
