To all Clubs and RallySport Ontario Members

The Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act (NFP Act) is now in force. Federal not-for-profit corporations are required to transition to the NFP Act. Until they have made the transition, the provisions of the “old legislation”, the Canada Corporations Act, Part II (CCA, Part II), will continue to apply to them. Ultimately, the old legislation will be repealed.

With CARS being a not-for-profit Corporation, we are required to transition to the new legislation by Oct 17, 2014. To do this we must ratify our by-laws at an EGM, which will likely be at the CARS AGM in Jan 2014.

CARS is forming a five-member committee to be made up of one member from each region to undertake this action on behalf of the organization. If you would like to be part of that committee, please contact me directly.
